Email newsletters

I learned all about email newsletters when I ran my business. I was sending weekly emails to my list and got a lot of new and repeat customers as a result.

One thing I want to do next year is send a regular newsletter once more. As it stands, I have 39 subscribers. To make it worthwhile, I need to grow my list.

The first thing I’m doing is a competition with Just Write for Kids. I have been organising their 12 Days of Christmas promotion, and everyone who signed up to the competition on the day of the prize I donated will be added to my list.

The next thing I will be doing is encouraging some of the people on my Facebook page to sign up. I will need something to encourage them to sign up, maybe an ebook or something. Or maybe I can have another competition, but this time on my site. I have started brainstorming ideas. I don’t want to give away too many books…

Once I have my subscribers, I need to work out what I’m going to put in my newsletter!

So far, I’ve got my regular “What have I been reading” post. As well as linking to the post, I can highlight a couple of books.

Naturally there will be details of any new releases and events I’m speaking at.

I’m trying to work out what else to include. What else will be of interest to the booklovers that I have on my list. I’m sure I can come up with something… if you have any suggestions, please let me know.
